For inner pages, high-quality offset paper with a weight of 80g to 120g is generally selected; its fineness and non-bleeding performance directly determine the writing experience. For the cover PU material, we will select high-quality artificial leather with different textures and thicknesses according to customer needs to ensure a soft and wear-resistant feel.
After the raw materials enter the factory, they will first be cut to size: the inner paper is cut according to standard sizes, and the PU material and cardboard are cut precisely to prepare for subsequent fine processing.
Core Process 1: Thread-Sewn Book Block, Endowing the Notebook with “Long-Lasting Vitality”
This is the most critical step of the thread-sewn glued notebook and the core difference from ordinary glued notebooks. First, we sort the cut inner pages into volumes according to layout requirements and fold them into signatures. Then, a professional thread-sewing machine is used to sew the signatures in series with high-strength cotton thread. This process allows no mistakes at all — the tightness of the thread and the alignment of the signatures directly affect whether the notebook can lay flat at 180 degrees and whether it will loose pages after long-term use.
After thread-sewing, the book block is flattened at high temperature and reinforced with glue, making the inner pages form a tight and stable book block. This is like laying a solid “framework” for the notebook, ensuring its durability.
Core Process 2: PU Cover Molding, Creating a Business-Grade Textured Outer Layer
If the book block is the soul, then the cover is the “face” of the notebook. The production of our PU cover is far more than simple pasting. First, the cut cardboard is used as the supporting framework, which is accurately attached to the PU fabric and pasted with environmentally friendly glue. During the process, it is pressed repeatedly to ensure there are no bubbles or warping between the PU and the cardboard.
On this basis, we will complete decorative processes such as gold stamping, embossing, and embroidery according to customer customization needs, so that the corporate logo or exclusive pattern can be accurately presented on the cover. Then, elastic bands and ribbon bookmarks are installed on the inner side of the cover. Every detail is repeatedly adjusted to ensure firm installation and smooth use.
Core Process 3: Gluing Molding, Completing the Final Transformation
When both the book block and the cover are ready, we enter the final binding stage. We accurately align the shaped book block with the PU cover and use special binding glue for tight bonding to ensure that the spine is perfectly attached to the cover without loosening or falling off. After bonding, the notebook will enter a shaping machine for re-pressing, and then the three sides will be trimmed with a three-side cutting machine to make the finished product have accurate dimensions and neat edges. At this point, a thread-sewn glued PU notebook that can lay flat at 180 degrees with a thick texture has taken shape.
Finishing: Quality Inspection and Packaging, Safeguarding Every Delivery Commitment
The last step of production is strict full-process quality inspection and customized packaging. We will check one by one whether the thread-sewing is firm, whether the cover pasting is flat, whether there are missing or wrong pages in the inner pages, and whether the gold stamping/embroidery is clear and complete, and all defective products will be eliminated.
